I would like to welcome you to the official website of the Georgetown Township Fire Department. I hope you find the site informative. I take great pride in introducing you to our department. The Georgetown Fire Department is a paid on call department along with three career employees. Our department has improved in all areas in the last few years and the reason for the improvement is due to the dedication and hard work of the officers and firefighters.
Georgetown Township is Ottawa County's largest municipality in regards to population. Due to the current building boom we are just shy of 50,000 residents. Georgetown Fire covers a 33 square mile area.
Our department has a roster of 54 paid on call members and 3 full time. We respond to over 500 incidents per year. Our department provides structural and wildland fire suppression, all forms of rescue coverage, sub surface diving, ice and swift water rescue. We also engage in mutual and automatic aid responses with our neighboring departments.
We have a Township Board and Township Manager form of government. Due to the continued support of our Township Board, we are a progressive department working on more adequately serving the residents and citizens who visit Georgetown Township.
Thank you for visiting our web page.
Daniel J. Hamming Fire Chief
