In partnership with Georgetown Township and the Ottawa County Road Commission, Grand Valley Metropolitan Council has installed a temporary pedestrian island on Port Sheldon Street just south of Alward Elementary School. The project comes as part of their Complete Streets program which has the goal of making streets safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
