GTPL is collecting clean costumes and bagged accessories at the library from September 18- October 12, in all sizes. Your donations will make our community costume giveaway on Saturday, October 14 from 10-1 (while supplies last) a success!
Valerie Vanheest is an underwater explorer and historian involved in the discovery and archaeological documentation of numerous historic Great Lakes shipwrecks. Combining her passion for maritime history with her professional writing and design experience, Valerie shares her adventures through award-winning books, films, lectures, and museum exhibits in ways to educate, entertain and inspire. She is an inductee in the Women Divers Hall of fame and a Michigan State History Award recipient for her work preserving and promoting the state’s submerged maritime history.

The Local History Room is staffed by members of the Jenison Historical Association and can be accessed on Wednesday from 11AM-1PM. Volunteers can help you with local history and genealogical research. The room can be accessed by using the stairs to the lower level (past the vending machines) or the elevator in the Township Office.

Are you a crafty person? Do you have crafts that you just can't seem to get done at home? Now is your time to finish them! Bring the craft you are currently working on (or have been waiting to start), whether it is knitting, quilting, scrapbooking, or anything else! Come and spend time socializing, sharing crafting experience, and enjoying snacks. Please bring along everything you need for your own craft. The library will provide tables, chairs, and snacks. Please register in advance as space is limited. Ages 18+
