Friends of GTPL

Mission Statement

Friends of the Georgetown Township Public Library exists to promote public knowledge and use of the Georgetown Library's resources, services, and programs; to encourage the growth and development of the library; and to support the library through service and fundraising efforts.

What Does the Friends Group Do?

While Georgetown Township provides budgeted funds for the operating expenses of the library, the Friends provides extra support to help offer additional programs and services to the community.

Additional support from Friends includes:
  • Provide volunteer support     
  • Raise funds through regular book sales
  • Support children's programs
  • Promote literacy and the love of books
  • Sponsor cultural and literacy events
  • Promote library advocacy in the community

Membership is open to any individual, family, group, business or corporation interested in the objectives of the Friends. A membership year is from January 1 to December 31.
