Georgetown Charter Township is located in Ottawa County, Michigan. The Township was established in 1840, and became a charter township in 1965. The 2014 population estimate was 49,646.
The Township, through its seven trustees, charts the course the community will follow. The trustees include the Township Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and four general trustees, all elected positions. The Georgetown Township Board is committed to a better and respected government for the people.
Township departments include those charged with operation of the library, cemetery, parks and recreation, Senior Center, fire, and water and sewer. The Township is served by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. The Township contracts with the Sheriff's Department to provide police protection to our residents.
